It's funny how, unknown to us, we can get our priorities skewed sometimes. People frequently get worried about cracks forming in plaster, when often this is just related to variations in the humidity or temperature, and often I can reassure home-owners in that regard. But where people often under-estimate the danger is when a chimney is leaning. A leaning chimney is always a cause for concern, not least because if it fails then fatalities are a very real possibility. If a chimney is leaning in your loft space, then consider how much more it is leaning above the roof line where you can't even see it.
